On January 1st, 2012, I recorded the 2,000th “A” for my piece Mantra in A where I record the note “A” every day for the rest of my life.  Here’s Agnes Szelag on cello and myself on accordion (thanks to Michal Szostalo!):

i finished recording my piece for 10,000 tracks of audio titled Myriad and am now in the final stages of mixing.  4 years of love, sweat, and beers have gone into making the most amazing piece of music that i’ve ever heard.  gonna shop it around to a few different labels soon, so look for an update here in the near future!

Barn Owl‘s Ancestral Star on Thrill Jockey.  They’re also on tour right now, playing the 18th (tonight!) at the Issue Project Room in New York, the 19th in Philadelphia, the 20th in Cincinnati, and the 21st in Chicago.  Then be sure to check them out in San Francisco at The Independent on December 16th when they open up for Lichens and the legendary stoner metal band Om.
